Frequently asked questions.
Outdoor Stories
What are Outdoor Stories about?
Outdoor Stories are my field notes from swimming, trail running, mountain biking and skiing. They are part adventure recap, part practical guide, and part reflection on why being outside keeps teaching me new things. My hope is that you will find trail runs, rides, ski days, backcountry overnights, and the small lessons that show up when you move through a landscape with curiosity too.Who are Outdoor Stories for?
They are for anyone who feels most like themselves outdoors. If you love mountain towns, endurance days, quiet trail moments, or you are just looking for inspiration to get out the door, you are in the right place. I write for both locals and visitors, and for people who enjoy a mix of useful beta and storytelling. What kinds of places or experiences do you write about?
Mostly the Sea to Sky, Whistler backcountry, and the places I keep returning to across British Columbia, plus the odd wander farther afield. Experiences range from short, high reward runs to bigger missions like hut trips, ski days, and human powered adventures. How often do you publish new Outdoor Stories?
I publish when I have something worth sharing, usually in clusters around seasons and projects. If you want to catch new posts as they drop, the best move is to follow along on Instagram or check back at the change of seasons. What is a good place to start if I am new here?
Start with whatever matches the season you are in. The Snow, Dirt, and Water sections are meant to be trailheads. If you want a quick win, hop into a featured story like a Sea to Sky run guide or a Whistler backcountry overnight, then follow the links that spark your interest.
Marketing Journal
What is the Marketing Journal about?
The Marketing Journal is where I share learnings from working in industries driven by play, adventure, and curiosity. It is a mix of strategy, tactics, and honest reflections from the field of outdoor, resort, tourism, and event marketing. What does “Marketer by Nature” mean?
Marketer by Nature is my way of saying that my work and my life outside feed each other. I build performance driven marketing strategies for places and brands rooted in nature, and I bring the same endurance mindset to marketing: show up, test, learn, repeat. What marketing topics do you cover most?
You will see a lot on brand storytelling, partnerships, product and event launches, paid media that actually works, and measurement that respects the full customer journey. I am always looking for the overlap between creativity and data. What makes outdoor and tourism marketing different?
Outdoor and tourism marketing is experience first. You are selling a feeling, a place, a season, and a story, not just a product on a shelf. Seasonality, weather, community credibility, and word of mouth matter more here than almost anywhere else. How do you balance storytelling with performance?
I treat them as teammates, not rivals. Storytelling earns trust and attention. Performance marketing helps you learn what resonates, scale what works, and keep the lights on. The sweet spot is letting data sharpen the story, not replace it.
Working with me
What kinds of marketing projects do you take on?
I take on strategy and execution projects for outdoor, resort, tourism, and experience led brands. That can mean campaign strategy, launch planning, paid media direction, partnership design, or helping a team untangle what to do first.Who is a good fit to work with you?
You are a good fit if you care about both brand and results, and you want marketing that feels true to outdoor culture. I work best with teams who are curious, collaborative, and ready to build something that lasts beyond one campaign. What does your process look like?
We start with a Discovery Session to get clear on goals, constraints, and opportunities. From there, I build a plan that is grounded in your audience, your seasonality, and your business reality, then we execute with tight feedback loops and clear reporting. How do we get started?
The simplest way to start is to book a Discovery Session or send a note through my contact page with what you are working on. I will come back with a few questions, a recommended approach, and next steps.
